Young Laureates scholars wear a uniform that reflects pride, identity, and belonging. Our dress code is simple, consistent, and designed to keep the focus on learning.

Why Uniforms

Dressed for excellence.

At Young Laureates we believe how we show up matters. Our uniform policy removes the distraction of daily clothing decisions and creates a sense of unity across all grade levels. When scholars walk through the door in their YL polo, they know they are part of something meaningful.

Uniforms are required Tuesday through Thursday. On Mondays and Fridays, scholars may wear program-appropriate attire including Young Laureates merch and spirit wear. The YL Scholar uniform is available through our Spirit Store.

Bottoms
Navy, jeans, or khaki pants, shorts, skirts, or skorts. Must be free of logos, tears, or distressing. Shorts and skirts must be an appropriate length.

Shoes
Closed-toe shoes required on all program days. Sneakers, loafers, and dress shoes are all acceptable. Open-toe shoes and sandals are not permitted. Crocs are approved.

Scholars may wear the YL uniform jacket, a white button-up shirt, and a uniform tie as part of their dress uniform. YL-branded jackets and hoodies are available in the store.

Non-Uniform Days
On Mondays and Fridays scholars may wear program-appropriate attire. Young Laureates merch and spirit wear are always welcome. We encourage scholars to express themselves within reason on non-uniform days.

What is and isn't in dress code

Uniform days are Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Mondays and Fridays are non-uniform days — program-appropriate attire and YL merch are always welcome.
